Reopening to New Applications for Electrician & Metal Machinist | Australia Immigration News

On July 15, 2024, VETASSESS will once again accept applications for the positions of Metal Machinist (First Class) and Electrician (General). Applications under the OSAP and TSS programmes have resumed after being halted in September 2023.

For two specific trade occupations—Electrician (General), ANZSCO Code 341111, and Metal Machinist (First Class), ANZSCO Code 323214—VETSESS will again be accepting new applications on July 15. Since September 2023, these applications have been on hold so that the organisation can concentrate on handling ongoing cases.

After careful deliberation with Trades Recognition Australia (TRA), VETASSESS has chosen to invite new candidates for these positions.

Applications for the Temporary Skill Shortage (TSS) programme and the Offshore Skills Assessment Programme (OSAP) under Pathways 1 and 2 are affected by this reopening. You can get in touch with us right now for comprehensive details on the Electrician (General) assessment procedure.

It should be noted by applicants that the position of Electrician (General) requires a licence in Australia. In order to achieve the qualifying requirements, they must thus go through a practical evaluation in addition to a technical interview.

In order to efficiently manage and streamline the assessment process, it was decided in September of last year to halt the acceptance of new applications. Now that the backlog has been reduced, VETASSESS is equipped to process new applications quickly.

The technical interview evaluates the candidates’ theoretical knowledge and problem-solving skills, while the practical evaluation verifies the applicants’ practical skills.

Similar in-depth assessments will be part of the Metal Machinist (First Class) assessment procedure to make sure candidates fulfil the high requirements needed for this skilled trade.

With this reopening, skilled professionals in these trades have a great opportunity to further their careers in Australia and add to the skilled workforce of the nation.

Resuming these assessments is a testament to VETASSESS’s dedication to upholding strict guidelines and assisting Australia’s skilled migration initiative. It is recommended that applicants thoroughly prepare for the examinations and make sure all required qualifications and paperwork are in order.
