Learn about the latest modifications to Engineers Australia’s Migration Skills Assessment procedure, which include expedited evaluations and redesigned routes for engineers, technicians, and drafts people with Australian qualifications.
Engineers Australia and VETASSESS, two important bodies in charge of assessing qualifications, have updated Australia’s migration skills evaluation procedure, which is currently undergoing major modifications. For both trade and professional occupations, the main goals of these improvements are to expedite application processes and shorten processing times.
Future Modifications to the Engineers Australia Skills Evaluations
The requirements for skill assessments under the Migration Skills Assessment (MSA) program for Engineering Associates, including drafts people and technicians, are being updated by Engineers Australia, and will take effect on September 1, 2024.
The Australian Qualification Pathway is the application route you can use if:
Engineers Australia has accredited your program, and you started it in the same year that it was accredited.
Should your degree be provisionally accredited, you must apply via the assessment procedure for Competency Demonstration Reports (CDRs). This modification also affects Australian Advanced Diplomas and Associate Degrees that are not accredited; they will now be evaluated using the CDR pathway.
Updates on the VETASSESS Skills Assessment:
A reduction in the time required for professional and non-trade occupations’ skills assessments has been announced by Vetassess. It used to take 10 to 15 weeks to process standard assessments; currently, it only takes 8 to 10 weeks. This modification aims to expedite the application process for candidates.
The actual time required, however, could differ based on how thorough the application is. The assessment process could take longer if the essential paperwork and data are not turned in.
Processing periods for trade occupations can vary depending on the program in question and whether or not all necessary paperwork has been submitted. It is recommended that applicants check the Trades Recognition Australia website for comprehensive details regarding anticipated processing dates.
