Eligibility Criteria For An Australian Parent Visa
- Child has to be PR Holder or Citizen It can be beneficial if the child of the parents is a Permanent Resident holder or Citizen. However, to sponsor them, the child must have lived in the country for a minimum of two years.
- Meet Family Balance Test Criteria Each parent must meet the requirements of the balance of family test, which they must successfully pass. If at least half of their children, including stepchildren, are either permanent residents or citizens of Australia, they may qualify for the Australian Parent Visa.
- Health and Character Criteria Parents are required to meet health and character criteria. It is recommended that they undergo a health check-up which includes an x-ray, HIV test, and medical assessment. Similarly, this also pertains to applicants seeking non-contributory parent visas. Parents applying for this visa must undergo a health assessment before the non-contributory parent visa is granted.
