Examine VETASSESS skill evaluations for 692 professions covered by Australia’s DAMA program, which provides skilled migrants with local employment prospects.
In regional Australia, VETASSESS currently offers skills evaluations for 692 vocations under the Designated Area Migration Agreement (DAMA) program.
Where local talent is scarce, DAMAs enable regional firms to fill positions with skilled and semi-skilled individuals in both professional and trade roles.
A job offer or sponsorship is required for applicants to submit an application for a DAMA skills evaluation. Before filing a labour agreement request to the Australian Government Department of Home Affairs, employers must, in turn, receive endorsement from their Designated Area Representatives (DAR).
After receiving an offer from an employer or sponsorship, a candidate can move forward with their VETASSESS skills evaluation.
Since the organisation started performing DAMA skills assessments in 2019, the number of DAMA vocations examined by VETASSESS has more than tripled, according to Dr. Mamta Chauhan, Executive Director of VETASSESS.
“Regional Australia offers numerous opportunities for migrants,” she remarked. “DAMA sponsorships help employers secure the workforce they need, and migrants arrive to a job that is ready and waiting.”
The following DAMAs are assessed for skills by VETASSESS:
1. New South Wales: Orana Regional Development Area: 60% of the state is included in it
2. Northern Territory Queensland: Townsville, Far North Queensland
3. South Australia: Adelaide City, in the South Australian outback
4. Victoria: South Coast Great, Goulburn Valley
5. Western Australia: Kimberley, South West WA; Goldfields, Pilbara
Every DAMA evaluates several professions in accordance with the particular requirements of businesses in that area.
