Skilled Program:

Victoria has been given 5,000 skilled visa nomination slots by the Australian government for the 2024–25 programme. This distribution consists of:

Skilled Nominated visa (subclass 190) – 3,000 places
Skilled Work Regional (Provisional) visa (subclass 491) – 2,000 places

We’ll soon release information regarding the prerequisites, programme schedule, and application procedures for these visas. The purpose of this programme is to draw in highly skilled immigrants in order to fill Victoria’s labour market gaps, especially in regional locations.

Business Innovation and Investment Program (BIIP)

As of July 2024, the Business Innovation and Investment Programme (BIIP) (subclass 188) visa programme has been permanently discontinued by the Australian government. This modification is a part of a larger plan to simplify Australia’s immigration policies and concentrate on drawing in highly qualified professionals who can boost the country’s economy right away.

However, Victoria remains open to nomination applications for:

Nominations for permanent visas (subclass 888) are available to those who have fulfilled the conditions of their provisional visa in the business innovation, investor, or large investor streams and who currently hold a Business Innovation and Investment (Provisional) visa (subclass 188).

Extensions for the Business Innovation and Significant Investor streams:

Those in possession of a valid visa may request an extension if they require additional time to fulfil the conditions for a permanent visa.

The aforementioned improvements demonstrate the state’s dedication to facilitating the entry of skilled and business migrants, thereby guaranteeing Victoria’s ability to draw in persons who can foster the state’s economic expansion.
