AMSI formally accepted the updated VETASSESS standards earlier this year. Professor Tim Marchant, the institute’s director, underlined the acute shortage of mathematical scientists in a variety of businesses and noted that this demand is what drives high wages. He pointed out that although there is a need for data scientists in many government and corporate settings, quantitative analysts are especially in demand in the financial industry. Important hubs for these roles are Canberra, Sydney, Brisbane, Melbourne, and Canberra.

VETASSESS Executive Director Dr. Mamta Chauhan conveyed her appreciation for AMSI’s support and guidance. The speaker underscored the dynamic nature of the mathematical sciences and the necessity for skilled migration candidates’ assessment standards to align with the present and future demands of Australian companies.
